Bail For Tejashwi Yadav In Corruption Case, Relief For Lalu Yadav's Party

Lalu Yadav's son Tejashwi Yadav and wife Rabri Devi were granted bail in a corruption case this morning by a court in Delhi. A day after Lalu Yadav had to surrender after the end of his parole, the court decision comes as a huge reprieve for his family as well as the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

"Notes Ban Led To More Tax Collection, Economic Growth": Arun Jaitley

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday said the demonetisation of Rs. 500/1,000 notes led to formalisation of economy, more tax collection and higher growth. His statement comes a day after RBI data revealed that almost all the scrapped notes were returned to banks. He said the Reserve Bank has twice released its reports stating that the demonetised notes Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 have been substantially deposited in the banks.

दक्षिण कश्मीर के अलग-अलग इलाकों से गुरुवार शाम आतंकवादियों ने छह लोगों का अपहरण कर लिया. सूत्रों के अनुसार जिन लोगों का अपहरण वे सभी पुलिसकर्मियों के परिजन हैं. एनडीटीवी को सूत्रों से मिली जानकारी के अनुसार आतंकी पुलिसकर्मियों के परिजनों को उनके घर से उठाकर ले गए हैं. गौरतलब है कि बुधवार को त्राल इलाके से आतंकियों ने एक पुलिसकर्मी के बेटे का अपहरण किया था. बच्चे के अपहरण की खबर मिलने के बाद से पीड़ित परिवार की हालत काफी खराब है.

दौसा में गुरुवार को जिला स्तरीय वन महोत्सव कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया. राजकीय माध्यमिक विद्यालय हरिपुरा में आयोजित इस वन महोत्सव समारोह के मुख्य अतिथि दौसा विधायक शंकर शर्मा रहे. अध्यक्षता जिला कलेक्टर नरेश शर्मा ने की. इस कार्यक्रम में अतिरिक्त जिला कलेक्टर राजवीर सिंह चौधरी, जिला परिषद के सीईओ राजेंद्र चतुर्वेदी, उप वन संरक्षक रामानंद भाकर सहित कई अधिकारी मौजूद रहे. इस अवसर पर जहां स्कूली बच्चों ने जागरूकता रैली निकालकर पर्यावरण संरक्षण का संदेश दिया, वही कार्यक्रम में पहुंचे विधायक शंकर शर्मा और कलेक्टर नरेश शर्मा सहित अन्य अधिकारियों ने पौधे भी लगाए. इस पौधारोपण कार्यक्रम के माध्यम से जिले में प्रत्येक व्यक्ति द्वारा एक पौधा लगाए जाने का संदेश दिया गया. मीडिया से बात करते जिला कलेक्टर नरेश शर्मा ने कहा कि वन विभाग की ओर से इस बार दो लाख पौधे लगाने का लक्ष्य था. जिसे पूरा कर लिया गया है उन्होंने कहा कि वर्तमान में दौसा में बारिश के कारण परेशानी आ रही है ऐसे में बारिश का नहीं आना भी गत वर्षो में पौधरोपण के प्रति आमजन द्वारा महत्व नहीं दिया जाना है.

Diesel Prices At New High, Petrol Prices Also Increase

Diesel prices hit a record new high in four metros across the country on Thursday. Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) marginally increased the prices of both petrol and diesel today. The rates were also increased on Wednesday. The surge in fuel prices is largely attributed to the recent rise in crude oil cost and the high excise duty levied on transportation fuel in the country. Fuel rates have been on the rise since August 16 after the rupee dipped to its lowest value against the US dollar. The domestic unit hit a new record low of 70.82 today.

The Indian rupee today fell further by 23 paise against the US dollar to trade at a lifetime low of 70.82, reported news agency Press Trust of India (PTI). The free fall of Indian currency continued today on strong month-end demand for the US currency amid sustained foreign fund outflows. At the Interbank Foreign Exchange (Forex) market, the local currency opened a tad higher at 70.57 a dollar from its previous close of 70.59 but slipped to hit a new low of 70.82, down by 23 paise, PTI added.
